有田焼・竜右エ門の灰皿を、ペンダントライトへとリメイク。
器の側面に巡る伸びやかな唐草文様と、風景を思わせる日本画の意匠。その対比がひとつの器の中に共存し、どこか凛とした日本らしさを感じさせます。
点灯すると、絵付けの濃淡や線の重なりがやわらかく浮かび上がり、静かな奥行きをもった光へと変わります。
日常の道具として使われていた灰皿の記憶を残しながら、光の中で新たな表情を得た一点ものの灯りです。
